Health & Safety Manager
Salary: £60,000 + Package
Location: Cannock
Reporting To: Managing Director / Operations Director
About the Role
We are a medium-sized main contractor specialising in industrial refurbishment projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of our health and safety function and provide strong leadership across multiple projects.
This role is suited to a confident and proactive professional who can hit the ground running, work independently, and support operational teams in maintaining the highest standards of health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the company's health and safety systems and procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
Advise project teams on legal requirements, risk management, and best practice.
Review and approve RAMS and other safety documentation.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
Deliver toolbox talks, training, and safety briefings.
Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Support client audits, accreditations, and pre-qualification submissions.
Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.
Requirements
Proven Health & Safety management experience within the construction industry.
Experience working for a main contractor, ideally within industrial refurbishment or industrial construction environments.
Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
Ability to influence site teams and drive compliance across multiple projects.
Excellent communication, organisational, and reporting skills.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Essential Qualifications
NEBOSH Certificate (minimum requirement)
Membership of IOSH (preferred)We are looking for a practical, hands-on professional who can quickly establish themselves within the business, support our project teams, and drive continual improvement in health and safety performance
