The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established South West construction contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the education, healthcare, commercial, residential, public sector, refurbishment, and maintenance sectors.

The company has built a strong track record of successfully delivering both new build and refurbishment schemes, developing long-standing relationships with clients through collaborative working, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to quality and safety. The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a long-term project in Bristol, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, managing site logistics, maintaining health and safety compliance, and ensuring all works progress in accordance with project programmes and client expectations. The role requires a proactive and organised individual who can lead from the front and manage multiple work streams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all day-to-day site activities and construction operations.

Coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant, and material deliveries.

Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Monitor programme performance and drive project milestones.

Manage site documentation, permits, RAMS, and progress reporting.

Undertake quality inspections, snagging, and handover procedures.

Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Lead site meetings and provide regular progress updates.

Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with programme, specification, and company procedures.

Promote a positive, safe, and productive site culture.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.

Experience delivering new build, refurbishment, commercial, education, healthcare, or public sector projects.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain programme performance.

Proactive, hands-on management style with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of project delivery.
