Teacher of Travel & Tourism (Maternity Cover)

Location: Thanet, Kent
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover (Initially 6 Months, Potential to Extend)
Salary: £170.00 - £260.00 per day (aligned with your current pay scale)Teacher of Travel & Tourism Required - Thanet

Academics are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school and sixth form in Thanet who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Travel & Tourism to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time maternity cover basis.

This position is initially for 6 months, with the possibility of an extension for the right candidate.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across BTEC Travel & Tourism Level 2 and Level 3 courses, helping students develop both their academic knowledge and industry-relevant skills.

The successful candidate will:

Plan and deliver inspiring Travel & Tourism lessons to Level 2 and Level 3 learners
Monitor and assess student progress in line with BTEC requirements
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Support students in achieving their full potential
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school communityThe Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification
Has experience teaching Travel & Tourism, preferably at BTEC Level 2 and/or Level 3
Demonstrates strong classroom management skills
Has excellent organisational and communication abilities
Is passionate about vocational education and student successApplications are welcome from experienced teachers and suitably qualified educators with relevant industry and teaching experience.
