We’re working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in Gloucester looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to their team. Due to a sustained and healthy pipeline of work across multiple sectors, this consultancy is strengthening its Structures team with an experienced engineer who can take a leading role in project delivery and client relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and respected consultancy working across a variety of projects including commercial, industrial, retail, public sector and domestic developments. You’ll be part of a close-knit structural engineering team, contributing to projects from concept through to construction, with real influence over design decisions. The role offers exposure to a diverse workload, the chance to mentor junior engineers, and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of the Gloucester office.
My client is seeking a capable and confident Senior Structural Engineer who can manage projects independently, support team development, and maintain strong relationships with clients and design teams.
What’s On Offer
A clear and supported pathway for career progression, with scope to move into associate-level responsibilities.
A varied project portfolio across multiple sectors, avoiding repetitive or siloed work.
Hybrid and flexible working arrangements to support work–life balance.
A friendly, professional team culture with a strong emphasis on collaboration and support.
Ongoing investment in training, CPD, and professional development.
The opportunity to have a genuine influence on projects and the direction of the local team.
What You Need To Succeed
Proven experience delivering structural designs across a range of building types.
Strong technical ability in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
Experience using industry-standard design software (e.g. Tekla, Tedds, Robot, ETABS or similar).
The ability to manage projects from concept through to construction.
Experience mentoring or overseeing junior engineers and technicians.
Confident communication skills with clients, architects and contractors.
A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Chartered with the IStructE or ICE (or working towards)
