Salary: £280 per day

Job Description

The Site Manager oversees all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves managing resources, liaising with clients and subcontractors, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The Site Manager acts as the primary point of contact on site, coordinating daily operations and resolving any issues that arise promptly and efficiently.

Job Duties

Plan, organise and manage all site activities to meet project timelines and specifications.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel to maintain productivity and quality.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies at all times.
Monitor progress and prepare daily reports, including site diaries and materials usage.
Identify and resolve any delays, risks or technical issues promptly to minimise disruption.
Liaise regularly with clients, consultants and stakeholders to provide updates and address requirements.
Manage site budgets, including labour, materials and equipment costs.
Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure workmanship meets required standards.
Maintain site security and environmental standards throughout the project duration.

Required Qualifications

Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
Valid First Aid qualification.
Full, valid driving licence.

Experience

Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry, preferably on projects of similar scale and complexity.
Demonstrable expertise in managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Experience in preparing and managing site reports, risk assessments and method statements.

Knowledge and Skills

Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, techniques and materials.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practises.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Working Conditions

The role requires frequent presence on construction sites in the West Midlands, Shropshire and surrounding areas, including Bicton Heath. The Site Manager must be prepared to work full-time hours, with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines. The position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires adherence to all site safety protocols. Travel to different sites within the region is necessary, and occasional use of personal transport may be required
