An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Automotive Electronics Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in the repair, testing, and remanufacture of automotive electronic systems. Working within a highly skilled technical team, you'll play a key role in diagnosing faults, repairing electronic assemblies, and restoring components to the highest quality standards.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong electronics background and an interest in automotive technology, including modern vehicle electronics and EV systems.
The Role
As an Automotive Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the testing, diagnosis, repair, and validation of a wide range of automotive electronic components.
Key responsibilities include:
* Testing and diagnosing customer-returned automotive electronic units using specialist software and equipment
* Identifying electronic faults at both unit and PCB level
* Dismantling and repairing complex electronic assemblies
* Carrying out PCB-level repairs and component replacement
* Restoring electronic modules to original performance and quality standards
* Performing final functional testing and quality inspections
* Collaborating with fellow engineers to share technical knowledge and support continuous improvement initiatives
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
* Strong practical knowledge of electronics and fault-finding techniques
* The ability to read and interpret circuit schematics and wiring diagrams
* Experience of PCB-level soldering and electronic component handling
* Familiarity with electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools
* Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Desirable experience:
* Automotive electronics, vehicle electrical systems, ECUs, or EV technologies
* Previous experience in a repair, manufacturing, remanufacturing, or electronics engineering environment
