Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Resource Base - Walsall
Aspire People are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive primary school in Walsall.
This rewarding role will involve working within the school's Resource Base, supporting a small group of pupils with additional needs (mainly ASD and SEMH) and working with a passionate team of support staff to create engaging lessons and activities.
The Role:
* Full-time HLTA position
* Delivering planned interventions and small-group learning activities
* Working closely with support staff to support pupils' individual learning targets
* Promoting inclusion and helping pupils access the wider curriculum
* Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and learning
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, parents, and external agencies where required
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold a HLTA qualification or have substantial experience working at HLTA level
* Have experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD and SEMH
* Be confident leading small-group learning and delivering targeted interventions
* Have a strong understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support pupils with additional needs
* Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with children, staff, and families
* Be patient, adaptable, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential
* Have excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or SEND practitioner who is passionate about inclusion and supporting children with additional needs to thrive both within specialist provision and mainstream classrooms.
