Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm or 8:30am–4:30pm
Salary: £35,000–£50,000 DOE + Uncapped Commission Realistic OTE: £60,000–£70,000+

Francesca’s Recruitment Ltd is supporting a long‑established engineering organisation in Chesterfield that is experiencing strong growth. They are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to join their expanding sales team.
This role involves managing a high volume of warm inbound enquiries while also driving new business growth across the UK. You’ll work closely with internal technical and project teams to deliver tailored, solution‑based proposals.
This is a fully office‑based position due to the collaborative nature of the work.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Sales Management — Handling and converting incoming enquiries
New Business Development — Identifying and securing new opportunities
Full Sales Cycle Ownership — Managing opportunities from enquiry to close
Proposal & Quotation Preparation — With support from internal technical teams
Relationship Building — Developing strong customer and internal relationships
CRM & Pipeline Management — Maintaining accurate records and forecasts
High‑Value Sales — Working on deals from £30k to £250k with varied sales cycles
Target Achievement — Meeting and exceeding revenue and margin goals
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in business development, technical sales, or solution‑based selling
Strong track record of closing new business
Experience managing longer, consultative sales cycles
Excellent commercial awareness and qualification skills
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building abilities
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple opportunities
Motivated, resilient, and target‑driven
