Assistant Director of Adult Social Care – Shropshire Council
Fox Morris Group are working to recruit a AD of ASC
Working Structure: Hybrid Working
Role: To provide operational and strategic leadership for Adult Social Care in Shropshire, ensuring high quality, lawful, person-centred services that promote independence, safeguard vulnerable adults, and deliver strong outcomes for residents. The postholder would be expected to lead service improvement, ensure regulatory readiness, manage performance and risk, and work corporately with partners across health, care, housing and the wider council.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the operational delivery of adult social care services across the council.
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties, professional standards and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Drive quality assurance, service performance, continuous improvement and effective use of resources.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Provide visible leadership across adult social care teams and contribute to wider corporate leadership.
• Work in partnership with health, community and voluntary sector organisations to improve integrated support for residents.
• Support transformation, redesign and modernisation of services in response to demand, policy change and financial pressures.
• Advise senior officers, elected members and partnership boards on adult social care issues, risks and opportunities.
• Promote strengths-based practice, independence, prevention and high quality outcomes for adults and carers.
