Job Overview: We are recruiting for a Estimator or Senior Estimator with civils, earthworks, and/ or water experience.This role is based in Redditch B98.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Estimates
* Undertake estimates in accordance with Company procedures.
* Identify opportunities and risks during the tender process.
* Liaise with the business unit, commercial team and Planner to agree on methodology and principles.
* Provide indicative pricing support for business development.
* Obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs.
Present estimates at adjudication
* Prepare an estimating "adjudication pack.”
* Close out actions and monitor customer negotiations, seeking amended authority as required.
Handover to site teams at contract award
* Prepare estimating handover packs.
* Provide ongoing support to site teams relating to the estimate and key assumptions.
Key Measures and Targets
* Winning work to meet the Company’s objectives.
* Developing a coherent and consistent tender submission with the use of key estimating assumptions
* Supporting temporary works for tenders and for the design element of design and construct tenders
Essential
* Engineering or commercial background
* Experience in either highways, rail, water or civils projects
* Proven track record working on tenders ranging up to 20m
* Numerate and IT literate, familiar with estimating software and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
Knowledge, Skills & Experience.
* Practical experience in general civil engineering construction ideally any groundoworks/ rail or wastewater and water treatment projects.
* Familiarity with Mechanical, Electrical, and Commissioning processes and methodologies would be preferable
* Quick to absorb project information and capable of developing and presenting clear, well-thought-out solutions.
* Able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence to engage with internal teams, clients, industry professionals, and suppliers.
* Understanding of design and procurement processes, with awareness of contractual considerations.
* Site experience across a range of projects and construction techniques.
* Exposure to Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) practices.
* Full UK driving licence required due to potential travel between sites & offices .
* Understanding of logic-linked programmes and scheduling requirements under NEC contracts.
* Extensive experince with P6 Software
* Familiarity with the NEC suite of contracts.
* Must have a CSCS Card

Happy to consider both perm and freelance candidates. Also open to either an Estimator with 2-5 years experienced or someone more experienced. Salary and package is varied, dependent on experience and depending on if PAYE or contract. This can be negoitable.
