We are seeking a skilled Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, managing materials handling, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. This role is based on 2 shift pattern, 6am to 2pm and then 2pm to 10pm.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and RF scanners to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse
* Perform order picking using various equipment including pickers and other heavy machinery
* Assist in shipping & receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control
* Conduct heavy lifting and materials handling tasks in accordance with safety guidelines
* Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock and maintaining a clean work environment
* Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency
* Maintain mechanical knowledge of equipment to troubleshoot minor issues and perform routine maintenance when necessary
* Follow OSHA regulations and safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
* Proven experience in warehouse operations, including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling
* Valid certification for forklift operation; experience with crane operation is a plus
* Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and construction-related machinery
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control
* Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse environments
* Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting of equipment issues
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
* Prior experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is advantageous but not required
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and inventory management
