The Opportunity
Prospero Teaching work in partnership with Local Authorities, SEND teams, and schools across the UK to provide bespoke educational support to children and young people who are currently out of education, disengaged from learning, or require additional support due to Special Educational Needs.
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to support learners with a range of needs, including SEND, SEMH, ASD, and learning difficulties. Many of the young people we support are unable to access mainstream education and benefit from tailored, one-to-one or small group tuition delivered in the community or home setting.
Tutors will be required to plan and deliver personalised sessions, adapting teaching approaches to suit each learner's individual needs, abilities, and learning style. The role requires patience, flexibility, and a nurturing approach, with a strong focus on building confidence, engagement, and positive relationships.
Support will take place during the school day and will be offered for approximately 10 hours per week. Tutors will also be expected to complete baseline assessments and provide regular progress feedback.

Subjects: Core subjects and/or life skills (depending on learner needs)
Age Range: Primary and/or Secondary

Experience, Training and Qualifications:
QTS, PGCE, Tutor Qualification, or relevant teaching/tutoring experience
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, ASD, or disengaged learners
UK teaching or tutoring experience
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Patient, creative, and flexible approach to learning
To be eligible for this role, the SEN Tutor must:
Hold the right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
