Primary School – Southend-on-Sea (SS2)

Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part-Time, 30 hours per week
Working Pattern: 52 weeks per year (including 5.6 weeks' holiday)
Salary: £28,504 – £34,413 per annum (FTE)

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and highly organised Site Manager to join our friendly and thriving primary school in Southend-on-Sea. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced facilities, premises, or site management professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

Working closely with the Leadership Team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school site, buildings, and grounds, ensuring that all facilities are maintained to a high standard and comply with relevant health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure the security of the school site, including opening and closing procedures.

* Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

* Manage health and safety across the site, including risk assessments, compliance checks, and statutory testing.

* Coordinate and monitor contractors working on site.

* Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.

* Support the planning and delivery of school events and activities.

* Manage cleaning, caretaking, and other site-related services as required.

* Maintain accurate records relating to premises management, compliance, and health and safety.

* Respond promptly to site-related issues and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to school operations.

About You

The successful candidate will:

* Have experience in site, facilities, premises, or property management.

* Possess a sound understanding of health and safety legislation and building maintenance.

* Be practical, hands-on, and able to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

* Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.

* Be able to work independently and use initiative to solve problems effectively.

* Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
