Senior School Administrator
Location:Wandsworth, SW15
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only (plus inset days)
Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Salary: Scale 6 (approx. £33,000 – £35,000 pro rata, dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP / September start
We are working with a well-established and welcoming school in the Wandsworth area (SW15) that is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Administrator to join their busy office team.
This is a key role within the school, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of administrative, HR, finance, and data systems, while acting as a central point of contact for staff, parents, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities Office & Administration
Lead the daily operations of the school office, ensuring an efficient and professional front-of-house service
Act as the first point of contact, handling enquiries via phone, email, and in person
Maintain accurate records and oversee general administrative systems and procedures
Support school events, trips, and wider activities
Assist with pupil admissions and attendance processes when required
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed for all visitorsHR Administration
Support recruitment and onboarding processes in line with safer recruitment standards
Maintain up-to-date staff records, including the Single Central Record (SCR)
Assist with contracts, absence monitoring, and general HR administration
Liaise with external HR providers and support compliance checksFinance Support
Assist with financial administration, including purchase orders, invoices, and payments
Support budget monitoring and maintain accurate financial records
Manage parent payments and lettings administration
Ensure compliance with financial procedures and audit requirementsMIS & Data Management
Take responsibility for managing the school’s Management Information System (e.g. Arbor)
Maintain accurate pupil, staff, and school data
Produce reports and provide data insights to support leadership decision-making
Ensure compliance with data protection and statutory reporting requirements
Submit census and other returns to external bodies (e.g. Local Authority, DfE)Wider Responsibilities
Manage office resources and supplies effectively within budget
Contribute to school communications, marketing, and community engagement
Work collaboratively with staff and external partners
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and equality at all timesAbout You
Previous experience in a senior administrative role, ideally within a school setting
Strong organisational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident using ICT systems, including Microsoft Office and MIS platforms
Knowledge of school processes, safeguarding, and compliance requirements
Professional, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and pupils
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a teamWhat the School Offers
