We are looking for compassionate, resilient and committed Residential Support Workers and Waking Night Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people in a residential care setting.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact by helping children and young people thrive in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
About the Young People
You will be supporting children and young people aged 8–18 years who require consistent care, guidance and encouragement to help them reach their full potential. Many of the young people benefit from positive role models, structured routines and therapeutic support to promote emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development.
Successful candidates will be patient, engaging and committed to building trusting relationships while helping young people develop confidence, life skills and resilience.
Shift Patterns Available:
* Day Shifts: 7:00am – 11:00pm
* Night Shifts: 9:30pm – 9:30am
* Sleep-in shifts
Residential Support Worker Responsibilities
* Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
* Act as a positive role model and maintain professional boundaries.
* Plan and participate in recreational, educational and social activities.
* Encourage young people to develop independence and life skills.
* Complete accurate daily records, reports and care documentation
Waking Night Support Worker Responsibilities
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people throughout the night.
* Complete detailed handovers for the day staff.
* Carry out regular welfare and security checks around the home.
* Record observations and complete accurate care documentation.
* Support bedtime routines, providing reassurance and promoting a calm environment.
* Follow individual care and health plans, including overnight support where required.
* Respond calmly and appropriately to any incidents or emergencies during the night.
Requirements
* Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people in a residential setting.
* A full UK driving licence is preferred.
* Willingness to complete the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce.
* Strong written communication skills for completing reports and care records.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including long days, weekends and sleep-in shifts where required.
* Applicants must be 21 years of age or over.
* Calm, resilient and able to remain professional in challenging situations.
* Passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
* A proactive team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
