Electrical Design Engineer
Location: East Sussex
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 DOE
Role Overview
We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical power and control systems for infrastructure and industrial projects. The role will involve producing engineering designs, supporting project delivery, and working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Produce electrical schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams, and associated documentation.
Develop design solutions in line with customer requirements and industry standards.
Support system studies, protection coordination, and technical calculations.
Prepare engineering information for manufacturing and project delivery.
Assist with design reviews, technical queries, and change management activities.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments throughout project execution.
Ensure all work is completed to the required quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Requirements
At least 5 years' experience within electrical engineering, power systems, switchgear, control systems, or a related sector.
HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.
Experience producing electrical designs within an industrial, utilities, manufacturing, rail, or related environment.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical design principles.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a project team.
Desirable
Experience with switchgear, protection systems, PLCs, or SCADA.
Understanding of power distribution and control systems.
Previous involvement in customer-focused engineering projects.
