We are looking for caring, resilient and committed Residential Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people in a residential care setting.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help create a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where young people can build confidence, develop life skills and achieve positive outcomes.

Shift Pattern:

About the Young People

You will be supporting children and young people aged 12–17 years who have experienced trauma and require consistent, therapeutic care. Some young people may display behaviours that challenge, including verbal aggression or damage to property, and benefit from patient, resilient and trauma-informed support.

Successful candidates will be confident building trusting relationships, maintaining clear boundaries and encouraging young people to engage in positive activities that promote emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

* Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.

* Provide emotional security, encouragement and consistent support.

* Promote positive behaviour and act as a strong role model.

* Plan and participate in recreational, educational and social activities.

* Support young people to develop confidence, independence and life skills.

* Manage challenging behaviours using a calm, patient and therapeutic approach.

* Maintain accurate daily records and complete reports as required.

* Attend team meetings and contribute to care planning.

* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality care.

Requirements

* Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people in a residential setting.

* A full UK driving licence (candidates should be confident driving, including on motorways).

* Willingness to complete the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce.

* Ability to work flexible hours, including long days, weekends and sleep-in shifts.

* Applicants must be 21 years of age or over.

* Energetic and proactive, with a genuine passion for engaging with young people through activities and building meaningful relationships.

* Calm, resilient and able to remain professional in challenging situations.

* Committed to providing outstanding, trauma-informed care.

What We Offer

* Full support to complete the Level 3 Diploma.

* Ongoing training and professional development.

* A supportive and experienced team environment.

* The opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of young people.

* Career progression opportunities within residential childcare.

If you are passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome challenges and reach their full potential, we'd love to hear from you
