In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that building projects comply with all relevant regulations and standards. You will work closely with contractors, architects, and local authorities to facilitate safe and compliant construction practices across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of building sites to assess compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure they meet legal requirements and best practices.
- Provide guidance and advice to builders and developers on compliance issues and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections, including any necessary follow-up actions or recommendations.
- Liaise with local authorities and other stakeholders to resolve compliance issues and facilitate project approvals.
- Stay updated on changes to building regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements:
- Must hold a Class 2A Registered Building Inspector qualification.
- Proven experience in building inspection or a related field, with a strong understanding of building regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey compliance issues and solutions.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to accurately assess compliance and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a local authority or regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy efficiency regulations.
- Familiarity with construction project management software.
- Membership in a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar
