The School and Role

Working within a primary SEND school, supporting children aged 5 to 11 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, providing tailored support, and ensuring pupils continue to access a positive and inclusive education. You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to meet the individual needs of each child, helping to maintain consistency and structure throughout the school day.

As a SEND Teacher, you will have opportunities to teach across different areas of the curriculum, provide specialist support, and cover classes when required. The role can include day-to-day, short-term, and long-term placements, with full-time and part-time opportunities available.

The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, learning needs, social and emotional challenges, autism, and sensory impairments. With excellent facilities, specialist resources, and a dedicated team, the school focuses on a child-centred approach that encourages confidence, independence, and engagement.

You will be part of a supportive environment where staff work together to create meaningful learning experiences and help every child reach their potential. The school has good transport links, although access to a vehicle may be beneficial.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of SEND Teacher you will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism – Ideally Maths and/or English.
Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to: MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs.
Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA’s
Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
