Health and Safety Adviser
Location: Ashington, Northumberland
Salary: Circa £37,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

Would you like to play a key role in developing and maintaining health and safety standards within a dynamic organisation?
Irwin and Colton have partnered with a market-leading, dynamic residential provider in order to identify their newest Health and Safety Adviser, reporting to the Head of Department. This role involves supporting the delivery of occupational health and safety initiatives across all group activities. You will focus on enhancing safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and providing expert advice to stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor:
Support ongoing review and adherence to all health and safety policies, promoting best practices and legal compliance
Develop and monitor health and safety systems, conducting audits and inspections across multiple sites and contractor activities
Deliver engaging health and safety training and communicate complex information effectively to a variety of audiences
Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to influence a positive safety culture
Assist in incident investigations, risk assessments, and development of effective mitigation strategiesThe ideal Health and Safety Advisor will have:
NEBOSH Qualified (construction certificate would be very beneficial)
Experience dealing with a variety of stakeholders (both internal and external)
Good understanding of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices
Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and delivering safety training
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences
