Registered Children’s Home Deputy Manager Required for new Home in Chorley PR7 and Crumpsall M8 Lancashire

We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join an amazing x 2 new 3 bed Children’s Homes supporting 8-18 year olds with EBD and challenging behaviours.

Do you live in the following areas Manchester Blackburn Preston Oldham Rochdale Bolton Bury or Leigh

Our homes are modern and bright.

The owners Registered Managers and Responsible Individuals require someone who is enthusiastic and energetic.

Quality is key. We seek a person that is consistent ,reliable and has the knowledge. Someone who cares and will always find a solution.

The team including Registered Manager ,Responsible Individual and Directors will be there with full support and encourage training qualifications and progression.

£40k must have level 5 or started.

Requirements of our Deputy Manager

* Work with the young person and team to develop strategies to reduce behaviours/work with unlined factors and stimuli/triggers.

* Develop therapeutic response for the team to follow.

* Will not be fazed by challenging and complex behaviours

* Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS

* Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues

* Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation

* Team-building skills

* Supervision skill

* Ability to manage teams effectively.

* Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

* Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour

* Excellent organisational skills 12 months relevant supervisory experience

* 24 months experience of working in a residential setting with and managing challenging behaviour.

Expectations and responsibilities of our Deputy Manager

· Resilience and emotional regulation: stays composed during incidents, conflict or crisis; can debrief and reset effectively.

· On-call capability: confident in managing concerns, giving clear direction to staff, and escalating appropriately; makes defensible decisions at pace.

· Leadership and role-modelling: sets expectations, holds boundaries, promotes a positive culture, and supports staff performance and wellbeing.

· Initiative and problem-solving: identifies risks early, anticipates staffing/practical needs, and takes ownership to resolve issues.

· Safeguarding and risk management: strong understanding of safeguarding processes, missing-from-care responses, incident management and learning.

· Care planning and outcomes focus: contributes to meaningful plans, routines and goals; promotes education, health and positive activities.

· Quality and compliance: maintains strong recording, medication oversight (where applicable), audits/checks, and readiness for regulation/inspections.

· Communication and professional curiosity: works effectively with social workers, schools, health and other partners; asks the right questions and challenges respectfully.

· Shift coordination: manages rotas/cover, handovers and daily priorities to keep the home running smoothly.

· Reflective practice: learns from incidents, welcomes feedback, and helps embed improvement across the home.

Deputy Manager qualifications

* Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

* Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&S

Salary for Deputy Manager

£40k Per annum plus occasional sleeps

You will be required to be flexible in your hours supporting the children the staff and the Manager
