Full-Time
My client is an established Electrical Contractor and an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) business, offering long-term employees the opportunity to share in the future success and profitability of the company. As they continue to grow, there are strong prospects for career progression and professional development for the right candidate.

They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of electrical fit-out projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial control and contractual compliance.

The role requires a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who can manage cost planning, valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts, procurement support, reporting, and final accounts to the high standards expected by my client.

This is a key commercial role within the business and requires someone who is organised, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and confident liaising with clients, main contractors, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities – Commercial Management

* Take full commercial ownership of assigned projects from tender handover through to final account settlement.

* Review all handover information from Pre-Construction, Design, Procurement, and Project Delivery teams.

* Understand project scope, cost plans, contract terms, risks, exclusions, and client requirements.

* Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.

* Measure and value works completed on-site.

* Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.

* Identify, price, and manage variations, ensuring all changes are captured and agreed.

* Procure and commercially manage subcontractor packages, including payments and final accounts.

* Monitor project costs and profitability, identifying risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle of the project.

* Support Project Managers with commercial advice and cost control.

* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maintain accurate project documentation.

* Attend client and commercial meetings where required.

Required Experience

* 3–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the electrical contracting or M&E sector.

* Experience managing commercial aspects of electrical projects within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, or construction environments.

* Strong understanding of construction contracts, valuations, variations, and final accounts.

* Good technical understanding of electrical installations and project delivery.

* Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement processes.

* Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and programmes.

* Strong financial and commercial acumen.

* Experience dealing with clients, main contractors, and consultants.

* Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

* A proactive and solution-focused approach to commercial management
