Salary - £26,000 – 29,000Are you looking to start a career within the Transport or Logistics industry? This entry‑level role offers a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced transport environment, supporting the day‑to‑day coordination of vehicle movements and customer deliveries.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Transport Assistant to join our clients busy Transport Department. You will play a key role in helping the team ensure deliveries are planned efficiently, records are maintained accurately, and customers receive excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with organising daily transport schedules to ensure deliveries run smoothly and on time.
Help allocate vehicles and drivers based on workload, availability, and priority.
Support the team by gathering and updating information on delivery progress throughout the day.
Monitor inboxes and communication channels to relay important updates between drivers, customers, and internal departments.
Help prepare transport documents, delivery notes, and basic reports for the team.
Assist in checking that vehicles are compliant, logged correctly, and up to date with required paperwork.
Record incidents, delays, or issues so the team can review and improve processes.
Provide general administrative support to keep transport records accurate and organised.
Work closely with colleagues across operations, customer service, and sales to support smooth coordination.Experience is beneficial but not essential. We welcome applicants who are keen to learn and begin their logistics career.

Experience in a transport, warehouse, distribution, or customer‑facing environment.
Understanding of route planning, scheduling, or delivery coordination.
Confidence using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Previous customer service experience.Key Attributes

Safety‑conscious and committed to maintaining high standards.
A confident communicator with good interpersonal skills.
