Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Monday & Friday, 08:30 – 17:30
Paid Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £26,436.80
Job Type: Permanent

Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy warehouse operation based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

This role will be predominantly focused on picking and packing customer orders, with some unloading of crates and heavy goods required. Due to the physical nature of the position, candidates must be comfortable with manual handling and lifting heavy items as part of their daily duties.

An FLT licence is not essential for these roles, as training and support can be provided where required.

As a Warehouse Operative, you will support the day-to-day running of the warehouse by accurately picking, packing, processing and preparing customer orders for dispatch.

You will also assist with incoming deliveries, stock movement, general warehouse duties and maintaining a safe, tidy and organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Pick and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently
Prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring goods are packed securely
Receive, unload and process incoming deliveries
Assist with unloading crates and handling heavy goods
Check deliveries for damaged or missing items
Sort and store goods in the correct warehouse locations
Assist with regular stock checks and stock control
Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods or operational issues
Safely use warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks, picking trolleys and ladders following training
Keep aisles, work areas and warehouse spaces clean, tidy and free from hazards
Follow health & safety procedures at all times
Wear required PPE including safety shoes, hi-vis and gloves where required
Support other warehouse departments when needed
The Candidate

The successful candidate will be reliable, hard-working and comfortable working in a busy warehouse environment.

You must be physically fit and able to lift heavy goods, as manual handling will form a key part of the role. Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong work ethic are just as important.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous warehouse, picking or packing experience would be beneficial
Comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Able to work under pressure in a busy warehouse environment
Reliable, punctual and hard-working
Good communication skills
Basic computer or administrative skills would be beneficial
Able to follow instructions and company procedures
Strong team player with a can-do attitude
Desirable Skills

Previous warehouse experience
Counterbalance FLT licence, although this is not essential
Full UK driving licence
Own transport would be advantageous due to the location
