Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary special educational needs setting in Urmston for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5-11 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work closely with children who require specialist support to access learning, communication, and daily activities. The successful candidate will join a committed team focused on delivering high-quality care and education to pupils with complex needs.
The Role:
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with PMLD.
Assist pupils with learning activities tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
Support personal care, feeding, and mobility requirements where necessary.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver personalised learning programmes.
Promote communication, engagement, independence, and wellbeing.
Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly PMLD, complex needs, or learning disabilities.
A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A willingness to support pupils with personal care needs.
Relevant qualifications in education, care, health, or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
