Experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper

Hours: 3 days per week (part-time)

Job Purpose

The Part-Time Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing invoicing processes, and liaising with local authorities to ensure timely and accurate payments. The role supports the organisation’s financial integrity and compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Records

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records

* Ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly

* Organise and maintain financial documentation

Invoicing and Payments

* Prepare, issue, and manage all invoices

* Track payments and identify outstanding invoices

* Follow up on overdue payments in a professional manner

Liaison with Local Authorities

* Act as a point of contact for local authorities regarding invoices and payments

* Respond to queries and provide required financial information Reconcile payments received from local authorities

Compliance and Reporting

* Ensure records are maintained in line with organisational policies Support audits and financial reviews as required

* Maintain confidentiality at all times

Person Specification

Essential

* Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance role (minimum 2 years)

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to work independently and manage workload

* Good communication skills

* Confidence liaising with external agencies

Desirable

* Experience working with local authorities

* Experience within the care or public sector

* Knowledge of accounting software

Safeguarding and Confidentiality

The post holder must adhere to organisational policies on confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding.
