Fostering Social Worker – Kinship Assessment Team | Liverpool City Council | £40 per hour
Sheldon Phillips are currently recruiting for an experienced Fostering Social Worker to join Liverpool City Council's Kinship Assessment Team. This role is ideal for practitioners with a strong background in Connected Persons, Viability Assessments, and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments.
You will undertake comprehensive assessments of family members and connected persons who are being considered as carers for children unable to remain in the care of their parents. The role requires strong analytical skills, robust assessment experience, and the ability to present evidence-based recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Complete Connected Persons Assessments and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Assessments.
Undertake Viability Assessments for family and extended family members.
Assess the capacity of prospective carers to meet children's long-term needs.
Prepare detailed court-quality reports and recommendations.
Work closely with children, families, legal services, and partner agencies.
Participate in meetings, permanency planning, and court proceedings where required.
Ensure all assessments are completed within statutory timescales.
