Are you an Application Support Analyst or Experienced System User in your department looking to take ownership of systems?
Join our Technology Services team and play a vital role in managing, supporting and improving our suite of on-premises and hosted applications. You’ll ensure systems are secure, integrated and optimised, helping colleagues deliver essential frontline services.
This role combines hands-on support, technical leadership, and project delivery, giving you variety and real impact.
What you’ll be doing
As an Applications Specialist, you’ll:

* Take ownership as the technical lead on new application implementations and system upgrades
* Ensure applications are secure, integrated, and running on up-to-date platforms
* Work closely with third-party suppliers to develop systems, deliver fixes, and coordinate upgrades
* Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including developing test plans
* Support system users and the wider Technology Services team on core applications
* Log, manage and resolve incidents and service requests using IT service management / call logging tools
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a technically capable, customer-focused Applications Specialist who can take ownership and collaborate effectively:
* Experience supporting business-critical applications in a customer-focused IT environment
* Experience taking the lead and owning applications in your department
* Strong skills in application support, troubleshooting and optimisation
* Experience with data and understand how it impacts on applications and business processes
* Ability to analyse business needs and translate them into technical solutions and reporting outputs
* Experience working with system integrations (SFTP, APIs) or a willingness to develop in this area
* Ability to balance project work with day-to-day support
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience with housing or finance systems (e.g. MRI Housing One, Open Accounts, MRI Repairs)
About you
You’ll succeed in this role if you enjoy solving technical problems and continuously improving systems. You take ownership of your work and act as a subject matter expert, confidently leading on solutions and decisions. You’re skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and external suppliers, and you are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, aligning with our CLEAR values.
Why join us?
* Flexible hybrid working to support your work-life balance – Monday to Friday, working from home and our head office based in Clifton.
* Opportunity to work across a diverse and evolving technology landscape
* A role where you can lead, influence and improve systems
* Be part of a supportive and collaborative Technology Services team
