LIFEGUARD

Key Responsibilities

Supervise all pool sessions in line with health and safety regulations
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times
Support SEN pupils sensitively during swimming activities
Carry out pool checks and maintain a safe environment
Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
Work closely with teaching and therapy staff
Maintain accurate safety and incident records

Requirements

Valid lifeguard qualification (e.g. RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or equivalent)
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Calm, responsible, and attentive approach

Desirable

First Aid at Work qualification
Experience in educational or therapeutic swimming settings
Understanding of SEN needs and support strategies
