About the Role
As a Media Teacher, you will deliver engaging and academically challenging lessons that encourage students to critically analyse media products, audiences, and representations. You will support learners in developing analytical, creative, and practical media production skills while fostering a deeper understanding of the rapidly evolving media landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Media Studies lessons in line with GCSE and A-Level specifications
Teach topics such as media language, representation, audiences, media industries, and digital media
Encourage critical thinking and discussion around contemporary media issues and trends
Support students in developing analytical writing, research, and media production skills
Assess, track, and report on student progress
Contribute to curriculum development within the Media or Creative Arts department
Support enrichment opportunities such as film clubs, media projects, competitions, or industry-focused eventsAbout You
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in Media Studies, Film Studies, Communications, Journalism, or a related subject
Strong understanding of media theory, analysis, and contemporary media platforms
Ability to make media concepts engaging, relevant, and accessible to students
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Commitment to safeguarding and student well being
