I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business, for an experienced Production Lead to join their Operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated manufacturing professional to take ownership of a production area, leading operational teams to deliver high-quality products safely, efficiently, on time, and to cost.

As a Production Lead, you will play a key role in driving team performance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring operational targets are consistently achieved. Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, the Production Lead will help maintain high standards of quality, delivery, safety, and productivity while supporting the ongoing development of the production team.

The successful Production Lead will be responsible for:

Leading, developing and supporting production personnel across assembly, test, and quality functions
Monitoring team performance, behaviours, welfare and development
Identifying resource requirements and supporting capacity planning activities
Developing, monitoring and responding to operational KPIs
Driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production environment
Supporting daily operational meetings and production reviews
Ensuring adherence to 6S principles and promoting best practice housekeeping standards
Implementing and supporting Lean Manufacturing methodologies
Working closely with Health & Safety teams to maintain a safe working environment
Ensuring accurate and timely production reporting and record keeping
Supporting manufacturing reviews and providing operational input to engineering and project meetings
Liaising with internal departments to minimise delivery risks and resolve operational challenges
Monitoring and reducing rework activities where possible
Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and quality standardsTo be considered for this Production Lead position, you should have:

Previous experience leading and managing teams within a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills
Experience working with MRP and ERP systems
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within manufacturing
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Experience using Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing systems
The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
A proactive and professional approach to performance management and team development
