Attendance & Safeguarding Officer
Location: Heston, Hounslow (TW5)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time + Inset Days
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

About the Role We are seeking a highly organised and dedicated Attendance & Safeguarding Officer to join a friendly and committed primary school in Heston, Hounslow. This is a key role within the school, supporting pupil welfare, safeguarding, and attendance to ensure every child has the best opportunity to succeed.
You will play a vital part in promoting excellent attendance, maintaining safeguarding records, and working closely with staff, families, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities Attendance
Monitor, track, and improve pupil attendance and punctuality across the school
Follow up on absences promptly, including first-day calling
Work closely with families to support improved attendance
Produce attendance reports and analyse data to identify trends
Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team, Education Welfare Officers, and external agenciesSafeguarding
Maintain accurate, up-to-date safeguarding records using CPOMS
Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in all safeguarding matters
Record and track safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate follow-up
Assist with referrals to external safeguarding agencies where required
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding policies and proceduresAdministration
Manage pupil data and records using SIMS
Support general school administration where required
Use Microsoft Office systems (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) confidently for reporting and communicationPerson Specification Essential:
Previous experience in a school environment (primary preferred)
Strong working knowledge of SIMS and CPOMS
Confident user of Microsoft systems, including Excel and Outlook
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentiallyDesirable:
Experience in attendance management or pastoral support
Knowledge of local authority processes for attendance and safeguarding
Relevant safeguarding or pastoral qualifications/trainingWhat We Offer
