Children's Support Worker - Domestic Abuse Sector (Derbyshire)
Location: Derbyshire
Contract: Full-time
Role Overview
Support children and young people affected by domestic abuse
Provide emotional and practical support in safe, structured environments
Help children recover from trauma and build resilience
Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions
Promote emotional wellbeing, stability, and confidence
Work with families to support recovery and safeguarding
Key Responsibilities
Conduct risk and needs assessments for children and young people
Develop and implement individual support plans
Deliver age-appropriate emotional support sessions and activities
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records
Liaise with social workers, schools, health services, and other agencies
Support families in accessing housing, benefits, and community services
Advocate for children to ensure their voice is heard
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children/young people in a support, safeguarding, youth work, or domestic abuse setting
Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to manage caseloads and maintain accurate documentation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential due to travel requirements)
Ability to work full-time hours across Derbyshire
