Maths Teacher - SEMH School | Islington | ASAP Start
Location: Islington, North London
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Permanent Opportunity Available)
Remedy Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Islington to recruit a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible.
This unique school supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and has a strong emphasis on the performing arts, creating a creative, nurturing, and engaging environment where young people are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students build confidence and achieve positive outcomes. You will:
Teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH needs
Create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
Monitor, assess, and track student progress effectively
Foster positive relationships that encourage student engagement and achievement
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about making a difference and has:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
Previous experience working with SEMH students or young people with additional needs
Strong behaviour management skills and a consistent approach to classroom practice
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A patient, adaptable, and resilient attitude
