Plumbing Assessor
Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a part time Plumbing Assessor to work at a college in Hull, starting 1st September 2026 (or earlier)and lasting on an ongoing basis. Ideally the school are looking for a temporary to permanent deal, where the successful candidate will spend 12 weeks on a supply basis before committing to a permanent contract with the college. Payment for this position will be between £20 and £40 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, while on temporary, and ranging from £28,900 - £38,900 while on permanent (subject to pro rata). We are looking for a candidate to work on a 18.5 hour per week basis, and these hours can be completely flexible to suit the successful candidate.
This role will primarily involve will taking charge for a caseload of students and ensuring that they successfully navigate their way through the NVQ course. You will ideally have access to your own car, as you will be visiting different students while in their place of work. You will review the evidence that trainees submit, and provide constructive and formative feedback to ensure that they are working in the right direction to pass their end point assessments.
The College is located in Hull, and is central, meaning it is easy to reach via public transport from all areas of the city. There is a car park onsite, but there are often not spaces available. Parking at a very local car park is available, with spaces always available, and this can be paid as additional wages. The college puts great pride in their vocational offerings, and have excellent links with local business to ensure that their students have the best possible opportunities during their course and afterwards.
Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.
To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:
Hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (or the willingness to work towards one)
Have experience working within schools in the UK.
Has experience assessing plumbing (ideal
Have experience within the industry
Hold an NVQ Level 3 in plumbing or related area
Hold an assessors award
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
