Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Job Type: Temporary, ongoing
Hours: Flexible shifts available
Pay: Competitive hourly rate

Apex Recruit is currently looking for experienced Mental Health Support Workers to work within a mental health hospital based in Clacton-on-Sea.

This is an ongoing temporary position supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. Applicants must be confident working within a hospital environment and managing behaviours that may challenge.

Main Responsibilities

* Providing person-centred support to patients.

* Supporting patients with daily routines and activities.

* Promoting independence, dignity and emotional wellbeing.

* Observing and reporting changes in behaviour or wellbeing.

* Following individual care plans and risk assessments.

* Supporting clinical and care teams to maintain a safe environment.

* Using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques when required.

* Maintaining accurate records and handover notes.

Essential Requirements

* Previous experience working within mental health, secure care or a similar setting.

* Current PMVA or MAPPA training.

* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new DBS.

* Good communication and record-keeping skills.

* Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

* Flexible availability for day, night and weekend shifts.

* Right to work in the UK.
