We are seeking a motivated and experienced Building Surveyor to take a leading role in the delivery of education sector projects, including schools, academies, and higher education facilities.

You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of construction and refurbishment works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This role involves close collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors, with a strong emphasis on site-based delivery, contract administration, procurement, and health & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the delivery of building works across education projects from inception to completion

* Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employer’s Agent as required

* Oversee and supervise contractors on site to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards

* Lead on CDM Regulations compliance, ensuring all duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations are met

* Manage health & safety on site, including risk assessments, method statements, and site inspections

* Prepare tender documentation, manage procurement processes, and evaluate contractor submissions

* Administer construction contracts (e.g. JCT), including valuations, variations, and progress reporting

* Chair and attend site meetings, producing clear and accurate project reports

* Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, budget, and stakeholder expectations

* Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and end users

* Identify and manage project risks and provide proactive solutions

About You

* Appropriate qualification in building sureyor or related discipline.

* Strong experience delivering construction projects, ideally within the education sector or public sector framework

* Solid knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and construction health & safety practices

* Proven experience in contract administration (JCT preferred)

* Confident in managing contractors and overseeing site delivery

* Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
