About the Role

We are looking for a caring, reliable and organised Nursery Cook to join one of our partner Nurseries friendly team. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard while meeting food hygiene regulations and dietary requirements.

The role is Monday - Friday, 7:45am - 1pm.

This is a rewarding role where you will play an important part in supporting children's health, wellbeing and development through healthy eating.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children alongside the nursery manager.
Cater for allergies, intolerance's, cultural and medical dietary requirements.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in line with Food Standards Agency guidelines.
Monitor stock levels and order food and kitchen supplies as required.
Ensure food is stored safely and correctly.
Complete daily cleaning schedules and food safety records.
Work closely with the nursery team to promote healthy eating habits.
Maintain a positive and welcoming kitchen environment.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working as a cook, chef or catering assistant (nursery, school or care setting experience is desirable but not essential).
Holds, or is willing to obtain, a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
Has a good understanding of allergens and special dietary requirements.
Is organised, dependable and able to work independently.
Enjoys working in an environment that supports young children's wellbeing.
