We are recruiting for an Engine Build & Test Technician to join a growing manufacturing business specialising in advanced mechanical products used within a highly technical industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys precision assembly, fault-finding, and testing, whilst working within a supportive and expanding team.
In the role of a Trainee Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and servicing a range of products to detailed engineering specifications. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure products meet the highest quality standards before delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies and final products from engineering drawings and specifications
Carry out component inspections and report any non-conformances
Perform testing, calibration, and performance checks
Diagnose faults and complete servicing, repairs, and refurbishment work
Record test results and maintain accurate documentation
Support prototype and development activities when required
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and accurately
Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, health & safety, and company procedures
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environmentThe Ideal Candidate
Previous experience within a mechanical assembly, engine build, automotive, aerospace, marine or engineering manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
close attention to detail with a focus on quality
Methodical and organised approach to work
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Experience with testing, servicing, or calibration would be advantageousBenefits
