Lambeth Council is seeking experienced Team Managers to join their Child Protection Service. These are exciting leadership opportunities for motivated and experienced managers who can provide strong oversight, drive high-quality practice, and ensure positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
Working within a busy frontline safeguarding service, you will lead a team of Social Workers, ensuring effective management of Child Protection cases, promoting excellent social work practice, and maintaining compliance with statutory responsibilities.

In this role, you will:
Lead and manage a team of Social Workers within the Child Protection Service
Provide regular supervision, guidance, and performance management to staff
Oversee complex Child Protection and Child in Need cases
Ensure assessments, plans, and interventions are completed to a high standard
Chair strategy meetings, professionals' meetings, and other key safeguarding forums
Monitor performance, caseloads, and statutory compliance across the team
Provide oversight of pre-proceedings, care proceedings, and court work
Conduct case audits and quality assurance activity to drive continuous improvement
Work closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes
Support service development and contribute to achieving performance targets
What You’ll Need:
Social Work England Registration
Social Work Qualification
Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care
Previous Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager experience within a Child Protection service
Strong knowledge of Child Protection, Child in Need, and court proceedings
Experience supervising and developing Social Workers
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and organisational skills
Strong understanding of statutory legislation and safeguarding frameworks
Ability to drive performance and maintain high practice standards
