Immediate Start
£40k - £45k Annual
Full-Time
EMT talent works in partnership with a range of established engineering and project related manufacturing businesses across Nottinghamshire and the surrounding region, specialising in bespoke machinery, automation systems, and special-purpose equipment.

We support skilled Design Engineers in finding roles that genuinely align with their experience, interests, and long-term career direction - rather than simply placing candidates into a high-volume application/ interview process.

Whether you’re looking for more variety in your work, a step up in responsibility, a more technically challenging environment, improved pay and benefits, or greater flexibility including hybrid working, we focus on matching you with roles that actually reflect what you want next in your career.

The roles we recruit for:

We are currently recruiting for hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer permanent positions within well-established manufacturers of custom-built and bespoke machinery.

These roles typically involve working across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture, build and installation.

You will be responsible for:

* Producing detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs for bespoke machinery and equipment

* Working closely with internal engineering, production, and project teams

* Liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure clear technical delivery

* Supporting design improvements, standardisation, and optimisation of existing systems

* Contributing to problem-solving and engineering development discussions

What our clients are looking for

We are predominantly keen to speak with engineers who have experience in:

* Mechanical design within machinery, automation, or special purpose equipment

* Strong CAD capability (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

* Full lifecycle design from concept through to manufacture

* Practical understanding of fabrication, tolerances, and manufacturing constraints

* Confident communication with internal teams and customers

* Strong problem-solving ability and hands-on engineering mindset

* Managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively

If you’re open to hearing about opportunities that match your experience, apply with your CV and we’ll arrange a confidential conversation to understand what you’re looking for and where the best fit may be.

We’re a recruitment agency that’s happy to communicate outside of standard working hours where needed, to fit around your availability
