Role Overview
The MWD/LWD Field Specialist is responsible for operating downhole telemetry and formation evaluation tools that provide real-time measurements during drilling. This role is critical for directional drilling accuracy and subsurface evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, test, and deploy MWD/LWD tools for drilling operations
Monitor real-time downhole data (directional surveys, gamma, resistivity, etc.)
Ensure accurate transmission of measurements via mud pulse or other telemetry systems
Troubleshoot tool failures and optimize tool performance
Provide directional and formation data to drilling and geoscience teams
Assist with well placement and geosteering decisions
Maintain equipment in accordance with Baker Hughes standards
Produce technical reports and post-run analysesTypical Profile
Technical diploma or degree in engineering, physics, electronics, or similar field
Strong mechanical and electronic troubleshooting capability
Experience in drilling services, directional drilling, or field operations preferred
Ability to work under demanding rig site conditions and rotational schedules
