SAP Business Analyst
SAP Business Analyst
£40,000 - £60,000 per annum
Permanent
Full-time On Site, 5 days per week - Stoke-on-Trent
SAP Business Analyst - Permanent - Full-time On Site - Stoke-on-Trent - £40,000-£60,000
Please note: this role requires you to be on site in Stoke-on-Trent five days a week. Applications are welcome from candidates who are based locally or able to commute reliably to Stoke-on-Trent without requiring relocation support.
TalentBank Technology is working exclusively with a Stoke-on-Trent manufacturer to appoint a permanent SAP Business Analyst at the start of a significant, long-term SAP S/4HANA programme.
The business is starting from scratch - no documented ERP processes, no SAP presence on the factory floor. This is a genuine greenfield opportunity for an experienced BA who wants to shape how an organisation runs its operations, from the ground up. You will work across warehousing, finance, planning, sales and purchasing, through to a full factory rollout, with an overall programme runway of two to three years.
Initially you will work in close collaboration with an external SAP integrator, learning the programme landscape before taking increasing ownership of the BA function as the engagement matures. It suits someone who is self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and who gets more out of building something properly than maintaining what someone else left behind.
The salary range reflects a wide scope - the client will pay appropriately for the right level of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document business requirements from scratch across all key functions - finance, warehousing, planning, sales and purchasing - with no existing process documentation to rely on
- Map current-state operations and design efficient future-state SAP workflows across MM, SD, FI/CO and PP modules
- Work closely with the external SAP integrator to align on solution design, then progressively take ownership of the BA function as the programme develops
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) end to end - test script creation, execution, defect tracking and sign-off
- Support data migration planning and execution across programme phases
- Engage regularly with stakeholders across the shop floor, IT and senior management - translating operational realities into SAP-ready specifications
- Produce clear, structured documentation throughout: requirements, process maps, training materials and user guides
- Contribute to programme governance, progress reporting and change management activity
- Provide hands-on post-go-live support and troubleshooting as each phase completes
Required Experience
- Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst on SAP implementation or rollout programmes
- Comfortable working across multiple SAP modules - MM, SD, FI/CO and PP - rather than as a single-module specialist
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA; full implementation life cycle experience preferred
- Confident operating in environments where processes are not yet defined - able to establish structure and documentation from the ground up
- Strong requirements gathering and process mapping skills; experience working with operational or manufacturing teams is a distinct advantage
- Proven track record leading or supporting UAT and data migration activities
- Effective communicator at all levels - from shop floor supervisors to IT leads and business directors
- Able to commit to five days per week on site in Stoke-on-Trent - this is a firm requirement and non-negotiable
- Experience working alongside an external SAP integrator or systems integrator is beneficial
- SAP certification, Agile methodology experience or familiarity with tools such as Visio are advantageous but not essential
