Platform Engineer - Snowflake

Location: London (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £115,000 per annum

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Platform Engineer to join our Data & Analytics Engineering team and take ownership of our Snowflake data platform.

This is a hands-on role focused on platform administration, security, access management, performance optimisation, and governance. You will act as the Snowflake subject matter expert, ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, cost-effective, and available to support business-critical data and analytics workloads.

Working closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Cloud Infrastructure, and Security teams, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving our modern data platform.

What You'll Do

  • Own the administration, security, and optimisation of the Snowflake platform.

  • Manage access controls, governance, and compliance across the data estate.

  • Monitor platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

  • Deliver platform improvements through automation and Infrastructure as Code.

  • Collaborate with engineering and security teams to support data platform growth and innovation.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' hands-on Snowflake administration experience within a complex enterprise environment.

  • Deep expertise in Snowflake security, RBAC, access governance, and platform best practices.

  • Proven experience managing platform performance, cost optimisation, and operational support.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

  • Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure, identity management, and modern data platform architectures.


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • SnowPro Certification (Core or Advanced).

  • Experience with Snowpark, Dynamic Tables, Cortex AI, Data Sharing, or Clean Rooms.

  • Python Scripting and automation experience.

  • Experience with SIEM integrations and security monitoring.

  • Exposure to modern data tooling such as dbt, Fivetran, or Matillion.

  • Knowledge of data governance platforms such as Alation or Collibra.
