Technical Operator - Specialist Automated Production Process
Braintree | £15.00-£22.50ph
This is not a standard production operative role. We're recruiting on behalf of a long-established, specialist manufacturer supplying high-quality ingredients into the food and pharmaceutical industries, for a technically skilled Technical Operator with experience in industrial control systems (e.g. SCADA) to manage and monitor a bespoke automated production process.
Full training will be given on the specific process itself, but you'll need a solid technical foundation in control systems to pick it up, this is a genuinely unique piece of kit, not your average production line.
The Role
As Technical Operator, you'll be responsible for:
Operate and monitor computer-controlled, specialist production equipment as part of the manufacture of food ingredients
Assist in the manufacture of products to established standards of safety, output, quality and hygiene
Store, feed, mix, blend and package products in line with good manufacturing practice
Pack, metal-detect and inspect finished products; palletise, wrap and label as required
Carry out cleaning/sanitation schedules to a high standard
Complete process and food safety documentation accurately
What You'll Need
Experience in a similar production environment, FMCG, food, pharmaceutical or chemical sectors all considered
Hands-on experience programming, monitoring and controlling complex production equipment/systems (SCADA, PLC)
Previous exposure to manual handling
Confidence working with IT-based monitoring/control systems, data interpretation, alarm handling, troubleshooting
FLT licence (Counterbalance/Bendi) advantageous but not essential
The Details
39 hours at £15.00ph, remaining 4 hours at £22.50ph
25 days + bank holidays, rising with service to 28 days
This role is physically demanding, including repetitive lifting (up to 25kg) and working at heights, it is not desk-based
If you've got the control systems background and want a role that's anything but routine, apply now to be considered for this Technical Operator position.
