Specialist Occupational Therapist – Permanent
Location: Hillingdon (Secondary School, ages 11–19)
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated and supportive team within a specialist education setting in Hillingdon.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a secondary school environment supporting pupils aged 11–19 with Autism, SEMH needs and developmental trauma, delivering high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy caseload
Provide bespoke assessments and interventions tailored to individual pupil needs
Work collaboratively with education staff and the wider multidisciplinary team
Support pupils with neurodivergence, developmental trauma and SEMH needs
Contribute to staff training, consultation, and whole-school initiatives
Work within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working framework
Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standardsAbout You We are looking for a resilient, creative and enthusiastic OT with a passion for improving outcomes for young people.
Essential Criteria:
BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
HCPC registered and member of RCOT
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a school or SEN setting
Strong experience working with autistic children/young people
Experience working with learning disabilities, SEMH or neurodivergence
Strong understanding of OT theory and clinical application
Experience of multidisciplinary working
Excellent communication, analytical and clinical reasoning skills
Understanding of behaviour as communication
Knowledge of sensory needs, motor skills, and developmental needs
Up-to-date knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity approaches
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
Commitment to CPD and professional developmentDesirable:
3+ years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist
Postgraduate training in Sensory Integration and/or developmental traumaWhat We Offer
