Our client, a prominent consultancy in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across highway projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting annual on-site health and safety reviews of the highways contractor and preparing detailed reports with recommended improvements
Providing ongoing health and safety advice, including emergency support when required
Updating the organisation on new legislation and advising on necessary actions to remain compliant
Reviewing and updating the health and safety policy annually to ensure it remains accurate and compliant with current regulations
Offering additional expertise as needed, such as conducting investigations and deeper reviews
Job Requirements:
Experience in health and safety within the highways sector
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
Proven ability to conduct thorough audits and produce actionable reports
Excellent advisory skills, with the capability to provide both routine and emergency support
Skilled in reviewing and updating health and safety policies
Ability to undertake additional tasks such as investigations and detailed reviews
Superb communication skills and attention to detail
Relevant health and safety qualifications or certifications
