The Best Connection is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team in Bromsgrove. If you have hands-on payroll experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy really matters, we’d love to hear from you.

💰 Salary & Benefits

£18,200 – £18,850 DOE based on 25 hours per week.
30 days holiday, rising to 33 days after one year (including bank holidays)

Friendly, modern office environment💼 What You’ll Be Doing

As a key member of the payroll team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time every week.

Your responsibilities will include:

Weekly Payroll Processing
Processing weekly payroll end-to-end, ensuring all hours, overtime, and deductions are calculated accurately and deadlines are met.
Payroll Administration
Managing day-to-day payroll tasks including starters, leavers, updating employee records, and maintaining accurate data.
Statutory Payments
Calculating and administering SSP, SMP, and SPP in line with current legislation.
Pensions & Auto-Enrolment
Supporting pension processes, including auto-enrolment, employee assessments, and handling opt-ins/opt-outs.
Employee Support
Acting as a first point of contact for payroll queries, providing clear and helpful information to employees.
Compliance & Accuracy
Ensuring all payroll processes comply with HMRC regulations and are completed with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Reporting
Maintaining payroll data and producing reports for internal stakeholders when required.✅ What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

Previous payroll experience (essential)
Experience processing weekly payroll
Knowledge of statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
Familiarity with pension auto-enrolment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
