Contracts Manager – Public Sector New Build & Refurbishment - East London Main Contractor - Up to £95k + Package

The Company
Our client is a well-established main contractor with over 15 years of success delivering high-quality projects across London and the Southeast. With a strong track record in leisure, education, retail, healthcare, and housing, they have built an enviable reputation for delivering projects on time, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction.

Working across both the public and private sectors, they deliver a wide range of new build and refurbishment schemes, from £500k to £25m+, consistently exceeding client expectations.

The Role
Due to continued growth, the company is seeking a Contracts Manager to join their East London team and take ownership of a portfolio of public sector projects (schools, colleges, libraries, leisure centres, healthcare, veterinary surgeries), typically valued up to £5m.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll be responsible for driving project success from contract negotiation through to completion. You’ll be the go-to person for clients, project teams, and stakeholders, ensuring every contract runs smoothly, risks are managed effectively, and outcomes exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage tenders, bids, and proposals to secure new opportunities.

*

Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

*

Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, ensuring compliance and protecting the company’s interests.

*

Lead project teams and liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and legal/financial advisors.

*

Monitor progress through regular site meetings and ensure projects meet technical and contractual standards.

*

Oversee project budgets, timescales, and invoicing to deliver successful outcomes.

*

Anticipate and resolve issues swiftly, keeping projects on track.

The Candidate
We’re looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with:

A proven track record of managing construction contracts, ideally within the public sector.

Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

The ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining high standards.
