Freelance Site Supervisor – Civil Engineering
Location: Teesside
Contract Type: Freelance / CIS
Duration: Ongoing
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a civil engineering scheme based in Teesside.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise site activities and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and to specification.
Coordinate daily site operations and monitor progress against programme.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
Liaise with the Site Manager, engineers, client representatives and supply chain partners.
Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, permits and inspection documentation.
Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays and disruption.
Ensure materials, plant and labour resources are effectively managed.
Requirements
Proven experience supervising civil engineering projects, ideally including roads, drainage, earthworks or infrastructure schemes.
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
Valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
CSCS card (Supervisor/Manager level preferred).
First Aid at Work certification desirable.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple work fronts
